Section I - Evolution of the Natural Gas Industry discusses the history of the natural gas industry from regulation to deregulation and takes a look at the future changes facing the industry.
Section II - All About Natural Gas - the Physical Side discusses what is natural gas, units of measurement and the activities that occur during exploring for, producing, gathering and processing natural gas for sale to the market.
Section III - The Basics of the Industry introduces the daily business process environment in which the Gas Management professional works, discusses who the players are involved in the industry and the importance of their roles and functions, and defines the key terms and definitions used in the daily business process. Gas markets and consumers will be discussed along with the activities, services and philosophies involved in marketing natural gas to the consumer.
Section IV - All About Natural Gas - the Paper Side discusses the gas transaction cycle including contracts, the nomination/confirmation/ scheduling process, the allocation process and the physical operations of the pipeline. The accounting/billing processes and revenue considerations of imbalances and penalties will be included and there will be an opportunity to discuss any questions.
With just starting to train for scheduling the class was very helpful and informative. Paige was a great instructor I really enjoyed her class and teaching techniques.

The Natural Gas-Wellhead to Burnertip Training Class is designed to give each participant a broad overview of the entire process of buying, selling and transporting natural gas to the market, as well as a history of the natural gas industry. Discussions will include the Pre-NGPA era, the Take-or-Pay FERC Order 380 era, the Open Access-Order 436/500 era and the post FERC Order 636 era. A detailed discussion will be given of the physical flow of gas from the wellhead to the burnertip including all activities actually involved in the movement of natural gas. The Revenue Generation Process will be introduced and the interdependent nature of the seven primary sub-processes and how each sub-process affects the other sub-processes will be illustrated. The purposes and reasons for the various contracts and pricing methods used to buy, sell and transport natural gas will be explained. The key players in the gas industry will be introduced along with their primary roles, issues and functions.
The session will also focus on the day-to-day business process of the nomination/confirmation/ scheduling process and the allocation/imbalances/gas accounting processes. The physical flows of gas will be discussed including producing, gathering, processing, storing natural gas and physical pipeline operations.
